The BBC has today launched a new TV-friendly version of its video on demand iPlayer service which aims to improve user experience on this medium. The new version is only available to users in the UK initially on the PlayStation 3 console but later rolled out to a myriad of other devices and connected TVs.
An iPlayer application for the PlayStation 3 was announced by Sony in August 2009 and was released on 1 September 2009 along with the Firmware 3.0 update to coincide with the launch of the slimline PlayStation 3. Feb 08, 2008 · I noticed in the settings for IPlayer, that you can use Windows Media Player to watch the downloaded programme. It works fine. So what I am going to try is downloading BBC IPlayer content to my PC (upstairs), and then try streaming it to the PS3, via Windows Media Sharing.
